Discipleship/Christian Education

We should hold people accountable to themselves and to each other in order to grow in Christ. Discipleship should create an environment for each attendee to feel the need to grow up with Jesus Christ. Our goal is for each member at Bethel to become an active disciple for Christ in education and discipleship.

The Discipleship Ministry team meets on the 1st Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm with Harry Bentley overseeing.

Study: Journey Through Revelations
Apocalyptic Hope for Today

Our September meeting will be lesson one titled: An Apocalypse, an Author and a Witness. The scripture will be Revelations 1.

In Revelation 1 the author John introduces himself and explains his purpose in writing this book. He has seen a vision of the living Christ. He has an urgent message to send to seven churches in Asia Minor. The message is a call for them to be witnesses for Christ in every aspect of their lives.

Together we will explore the images and symbolism on the book and explore how Revelations made sense to its first hearers in the early church as well as how it can make sense for us today. It will be challenging, but a journey that we will be glad we took and be blessed by this strange book.

So join me in the Parlor on the second Thursday, September 9th at 10:00 am.
